near offers considered. | This car is in really shiny condition with a huge specification and with only 46000 miles. | Originally pre-registered to Chevrolet as a management car it was then purchased by its Cardiff based owner who kept it very evidently in good order and it all but looks like the day it fell out of the showroom! | Outside this Lacetti is in excellent condition with very attractive metallic Imperial Blue paint and a sporty set of alloy wheels. It all looks super and I’ve had a clay bar on the paintwork and used a quality polish to make it appear like it does. | Inside is a very cosseting place to be. There is a spacious feeling with the light grey leather seating along with the very tasteful timber effect trim. All this adds up to making a lovely ambience while enjoying a lot of room in both the front and rear. Its all finished off nicely and the boot is fully carpeted too. There is a very small scuff to the offside front bumper corner, a couple of minor scratches on the rear bumper where the boot has been loaded and a small ding in the rear nearside passenger door. Other insignificant blemishes exist as you may imagine and the alloy wheels, particularly the front nearside one, have been in a fight with a kerb! | You may also like to clean the interior carpets better than I have. Although they are more than presentable and perfectly good I would want to tickle a little shampoo in a couple of areas…..but then I’m a perfectionist (unfortunately). motivation, power everything and air, all in a solid chassis with excellent fit and finish—what more could you ask for? | The ’56 Chevrolet has one of the most recognizable shapes in the automotive world, and with good reason. Clean lines, smooth, restrained trim and excellent proportions make for a handsome car with a ton of customizing potential. Some cars get restored correctly down to the nuts and bolts, some are wild creations from Mars and some end up like this car here with a clean restoration with some subtle touches. Let’s start with the undercarriage. | You’ll find clean floors and suspension components on this frame off job. Finished in satin black for durability and drivability the floors and frame are in excellent shape as this was an extremely solid platform to build on. Nice additions include power steering (with all new components) power front disc brakes and larger rear drums and all new lines and hoses. There’s a stainless exhaust system from the ceramic coated headers back to the stainless tips, four classic Cragar SS mags with 215/65 and 235/70/15 rear radials and chrome oil and trans pans. | The Flint-built body was in excellent shape before bodywork started so large scale repairs were simply not needed. The original color scheme was yellow over green—I doubt you’ll find many people who think that sounds better than the crisp white that’s on the car now! The trim (and there’s a lot on a ’56) is in excellent, shiny condition, as are the bumpers. New tinted glass sits in all openings. Old school nods go to the headlight eyebrows and stainless vent shades. Custom touches include the small accent paintwork in contrasting maroon and navy. The body’s shape was left alone—Chevrolet did an excellent job on the styling—why mess with a good thing? | Pop the hood and examine the power plant. That’s 283ci worth of small block power and smoothness in there. The cam’s on the small side so all of the power features work as they should and the car will idle all day in traffic with the A/C on and not throw a fit. A polished Edelbrock carb sits on a polished Weiand Stealth dual plane unit handle the induction, a billet distributor throws the spark and ceramic headers clear the exhaust. Mr. Gasket polished aluminum valve covers, a chrome alternator and A/C package add sparkle and braided lines handle the fluids. A Die Hard battery sits in the corner and a cutoff switch rides on the passenger fender—that’s a handy place to have one for show or storage! An aluminum radiator with an electric fan keeps things cool and a rebuilt Turbo 350 sends power to the wheels—it’s all as bulletproof as it is foolproof! | We don’t have many cars here with a more comfortable interior than this ’56 sports. It has also recently had a replacement alternator, head lining, battery, starter motor, bonnet release cable and AC compressor. | Mechanically the Camaro is superb. The engine sounds amazing with no untoward knocks or rattles, and it pulls with all the grunt you would expect from a large V8. The autobox changes on cue without any issues, the brakes are absolutely spot on, and the power steering works faultlessly. The Bilstein suspension is also fairly new and performs very well. It has clearly been well looked after mechanically throughout its life. | The interior isn`t bad overall but would benefit from the attention of a keen new owner to make it perfect. In particlar, the dashboard top has a crack in it, which is quite common on these models, but actually a very easy job to change as the top comes apart separately to rest of the dash. The seats and carpets don`t have any holes or excessive wear, but the driver`s footwell carpet is a little dirty and would benefit from a deep clean. If I were keeping the car for myself, I would probably consider sourcing a leather interior from a donor car, but this is just down to personal preference. Some of the plastics on the door panels and centre console are missing a few securing screws so rattle a bit at speed, but again would be an easy job to rectify. The steering wheel could do with recovering. The headlining has recently been professionally replaced with a quality grey "alacantra" type fabric, which is one of the hardest jobs out of the way. | The bodywork is very good and original. There are a few small dents and minor blemishes as you would reasonably expect of a car of this age, the only notable dent is on the offside rear wheel arch but even this isn`t hugely noticable. I did consider getting this repaired but I decided it would best to sell as an `untampered` example, and if the new buyer would like to have any such repairs carried out, I can get a quote from the local bodyshop I use where I get sizeable discount and fantastic quality of workmanship. The Nascar rims are unmarked and honestly couldn`t suit this model more perfectly (in my opinon) - they look absolutely stunning and are complimented by a nearly new set of Cooper Cobra tyres all round. The underside is also in fantastic condition. | This Camaro was imported into the UK in 2002 and we have the original document to show this. We also have some other history including MOT documents, sorn declarations from when the car was dry stored for a period of time, current V5 and MOT certificate. A full HPI check has been carried out and is clear on all counts. We have also carried out the US equivalent of a HPI check using the VIN and original registration number, for which a printed report will also be provided with the car. This report further supports that the Camaro is clear of any adverse history from its time in the States, and shows two odometer records; one of 59,439 in 1989, and another showing 140,326 in 2001, approximately 1 year before it was imported. Going on the assumption the clock was changed around the time it was imported, the first UK MOT certificate we have from 2002 shows a reading of 24,477, and the current reading is 30,246, so we can assertain from this that it has covered approximately 6,000 miles since arriving in the UK. Just as a general caution to buyers unfamiliar with buying imported cars; please do what you can to verify any unrealistic mileage claims, as it is not uncommon for clocks to have been changed on older cars for various and legitimate reasons, which is fine so long as you have a record of the history before hand. If a seller is claiming a mileage of sub 50,000 for example on 25 year old car, while this is possible of course, you should do your utmost to establish some supporting evidence - I learned the hard way so I just want to pass on my experience. | In summary, I would describe this Camaro as a solid, mechanically sound and very presentable example that could be enjoyed for many years as it is, or could be tinkered with by an enthusiast to get it perfect. | If you have any questions or would like to arrange a test drive or viewing, please contact Jamie via eBay or on 07792 602288. There is the potential for room to improve on the interior so a bit of winter fettiling and a great car for the forthcoming summer!The body and paint is in good order, the vynil stripes were new last summer, the headlamp kit is well installed and looks good. All glass is in nice shape.The factory aluminium wheels are highly polished and in excellent condition, there are almost new Pirelli 215/70 x 15 tyres all round which are absolutley the best tyre you can fit to a Vette, this car handles superbly.The engine bay is very presentable already and with very little time spent in there would make it really nice. There is an Edelbrock inlet manifold fitted and a Holley carburettor, L-82 valve covers, a mallory distributor and tubular headers. Nice plug leads and standoffs. Thee is a full dual undercar exhaust. The car is on the button and starts and idles well.Underneath is in very good condition, the chassis is solid in all the troublesome areas, with a steam clean and waxoil this would really be a clean machine underneath. All suspension bushes look to be good, as does the rest of the drivetrain. Brakes work well and a new master cylinder recently fitted.The interior is one area where there is room to improve this car, the dash is excellent, as are the instruments and surrounds. There is a B&M quick shift fitted, which you may or may not like, if you don`t its easily changed back to stock.The interior would benefit from a new carpet set and door panels. The seats are presentable as is, or you could go for an interior kit. The rear compartment surrounds are new and are excellent, door pulls are in good order, so it would be a very easy job and not terribly expensive to make the interior lovely.So there it is, a clean 81 with a few jobs to make it a really clean 81, nice history folder, and a real head turner.There is a fresh MOT on the car, so it really is ready to go. It has a panasonic 7 inch touch screen dvd cd player in the dash with a custom hand made suround.Infinity speakers all soldered with top quality speaker wire with two infinity amps all properly fitted and a infinity 12.1 sub in a custom box wich has been stripped and stained the same colour as the interior as my van. It has two 9 inch dvd players in the front headrest witch have wireless head phones and are linked to the front dash dvd so you can watch a dvd through all three screens all trhough the surround sound. They can also be watched indipendant of each other so for example The front screen can play one dvd, one of the rear ones can play games while the other watches a completly different dvd again all through the wireless headphones. The following bit`s are just fro showbut the kids love it (and most adults) The van has blue under body lights also in the wheel arches and various strobes behind the front grill with american police lights (and sirens).There is also 2 train horns they`re both 170db each there fitted under neath at the back and they run from a compressor. This is seperate to the legal horn that is used a normal by pressing the steering wheel. The train horn can be used via a button or a remote control (can be hillarious whie people are near the van) The rear seat folds down electrically into a double bed.All the tyres are like new, new front screen.Im only selling it as I havent really got the space to keep it. The plan was to keep and get full use in the summer with day trips and nights out. No Worries about runnig the batter flat as it even has a solar panal on the roof!!!! The van has 11 mounths mot and 5 months tax.Loads more to see in this I could go on for ever. Really must be seen and will easily do 30+mpg and used daily. Can be converted to LPG gas very easy. MOT until Jan 2013 Taxed until March 2012 Two Three seat rear bench seats. All this for £2,200 BUY IT NOW. Call to discuss. (Four choices of different wheel sets available should you not like the set currently fitted.) MOT`ed full year TAX (TAX is only £118 per six months £210 per year) Fully remote control 10" TV / DVD available. This Dayvan has the (renoundly known as) virtually indestructable 4300cc Vortec V6 petrol engine which not only sounds fantastic it is also surprisingly economical for this size engine and has a proven track record of being extremely reliable. The interior is very nice, all seating is in above average condition with two front fixed seats, and two three seater rear bench seats which folds down to allow superior loading or can easily be removed to allow for huge loading capacity or to put in an inflatable mattress to give a good night sleep with no hotel charges, this lovely vehicle also is equipped with air conditioning, plus airbag. As you can see by the photograghs the outside is in fair condition however there are several lightly damaged areas to mention, the bonnet has a lot of stone chipping, the rear left door has very light dent and most of the passenger side has light denting, most of which a dentdoctor body repair technician could remove without the need for spray work so study the pictures especially for the passenger side and ask for more if required (please TEXT or CALL me on 07747845304 so I can get your email address for extra pictures as e b a y will remove any messages with email addresses included, All in all the vehicle drives very well and looks good, even the passenger side and bonnet aren`t obvious from just a few feet away, plus the underside is as always excellent as these vans all have a galvanised chassis so no rust. For the money, this is a good entrance van if you don`t want to be paying around double for a near perfect similar vehicle. Sort the bodywork at around i`d guess to be about £400 and you`ve got a cracker as the rest of the vehicle is very nice. Plus the front grill can be updated to the newer composite headlight option for around a couple of hundred pounds (that includes replacement headlights/ replacement grill/new headlight wiring loom).Or for a little extra I can fit all these for you. And upgrade headlights / taillights / bumper-indicator lights / mirrors / wheels etc all availbale and in stock, Ask for details. The price of the vehicle `as is` is only £2,200 which i feel represents excellent value. Also has privacy glass. If you choose to purchase i`m always available to offer help & advice regarding upgrade parts or spares etc throughout your ownership, i`m just a phone call away. I have many things occupying my time but if I find there is no sensible offers or interest in the vehicle as it is I may have the work completed myself, including grill replacement etc, but the price when completed will reflect the impoved condition so i`d expect to be then advertising at around £3,750 with offers, at the current asking price it truly is a bargain so grab your chance while its available. The mileage is only 63,331 which is well below average for the year of vehicle and the condition interior and exterior clearly shows this is correct, also these engines being larger than most UK cars are built for long life and so 300-400 thousand miles can easily be enjoyed before any hint of serious engine failure being likely, mpg is between 22 and 28 depending on how and where you drive, town / motorway /cruise / floor it etc. But remember if it was converted to LPG, which is nearly half the price of petrol you`d effectively be getting around 40-50 mpg. My own Purple Astro is converted to LPG and I get about 330 miles from a full tank which currently costs me about £65 so it makes this vehicle viable to drive as your day to day vehicle as i have for the past two years. This vehicle drives extremely smoothly, very comfortable ride which i feel is above the standard for these vehicles. All in all a great investment for whoever buys this very well spec`d vehicle. It can tow anything big or small so with the towbar fitted it makes a major bonus for this vehicle. Parts / Spares for these vehicles are easy to get, cheaper than you`d expect and more importantly off the shelf in THIS country, one company of many i use is `USA Automotive` located in the Midlands, Parts are always correct as all you do is give this company the van`s VIN number and anything ever fitted to the vehicle is logged on their database! Fantastic, they are easy to fit parts to, service is also done with ease with access from a removable panel inbetween the driver and front passenger seats and again cheap-e.g. you can get six Dayvan spark plugs, air filter, oil filter, HT leads, distributor cap, distributor arm, for around £100 delivered next day. The rear seating folds down for collecting larger items or you can remove them completely in literally in seconds making a very good sized collection van for extra large items. (I`ve timed it and both three seaters can be out of the vehicle in under 60 seconds, not that anyone would need to do it that quickly.) It has a beautifully smooth automatic transmission PLUS cruise control, the steering is so light you can steer it with one finger, and its raised drivers position makes this vehicle very reassuring as you get an elevated view of the road ahead far further than a typical car. I have MANY MANY happy customers and pride myself on stocking only the best vehicles available. £2,200 for this vehicle is i feel not only very fair but a TRUE BARGAIN!!! But i am realistic, i understand buyers concerns and to continue a steady stock flow i have (unlike many sellers) adjusted my prices accordingly. Please remember this is a 1996 so obviously isn`t new or perfect, i.e. there are some minor blemishes and the scrapes/dents earlier described but the price MORE than reflects this (see pics) having said that i am being very picky, as you can see from the photographs overall it is a very good looking vehicle that drives fantastic, it includes a FULL MOT, so at this price this vehicle represents excellent value for money.
