Please remember thou this was done with spray cans not an airbrush so has a texture to it. There is a twin system stainless exhaust fitted. its 2 inches from the manifold back with a single stainless state-side cherry bomb fitted on both sides. It sounds nice and meaningful. It pulls well and is defiantly fun to drive.It also has a custom roof, Side steps rear ladder and front captains chairs. And a rock and roll bed in the back.I have the receipt for when the engine was rebuilt in 1998 and most its old MOT`s There are a few issues with it thou. There`s a bit of play in the steering column. This is a common GM fault and need the four bolts tightening up. It is about 90 minutes work. One of the windows in the roof leaks. The previous owner had tried to seal it with silicon but made a hash of it. One of the brackets for the side step needs reattaching and obviously the inside needs fitting out as shown in pictures.Any questions please feel free to ask. USA. It`s a 1995 AWD with the Vortec 4.3 V6 engine with 200bhp. It is silver with red skirts and red accessories. The engine is perfect and has only done approx 80,000 miles. We have spent a lot of time and money looking after our van and we are very reluctant to sell it. It was imported in June 2006, so apart from the garage we bought it from, we are the only UK owners. Since owning it we have done the following: Water pump Starter motor Front discs & pads (regular pad changes) Towbar & electrics Rear suspension bump stops Wiper board (these vans all suffer from wiper faults) Cherry bomb exhaust Performance air filter and breather pipe filter (we still have the original air filter box, if wanted) LCD TV, DVD player and freeview box (all working) Removed all original decals (due to damaged/worn decals) Serviced the electric window motors (another things notorious on Astro`s) Fit rear fog light as per UK regulations Center lap belt on rear bench Dixie horns M3 electric wing mirrors, wired to the indicator circuit Sony CD player, 2 new front speakers and 4 new rear speakersNew chequerplate step covers fitted Recent full service including: Plugs (yes all 6 and they are a pain to change!) Leads Rotor arm Distributor cap Oil flush Oil change Oil filter Fuel flush Coolant change Work done for last MOT Rear number plate bulb New idler arms Back brakes fully serviced by garage (Bought new rear shoes but it didn`t need them) It is a left hand drive, automatic with overdrive and cruise control (which works great). Exterior During it`s previous life in Japan the Chevy has had some minor bodywork damage and a minor dent to one of the back quarters, we have started to rub this down ready for repair. It only became evident after removing all the decals as it had been lacquered over thickly, see photos. The rear spare wheel carrier was removed due to the weight of it bending the door skin. (The spare wheel is now underneath the van). The rear ladder was removed as it served no purpose (it`s a fibreglass roof and can`t bear weight). We still have the ladder and spare wheel carrier, if wanted. The holes have been filled and temporarily patched where the ladder and carrier were fitted, these will need re-doing at some point. Although there isn`t any rust, the paintwork does need a little tlc. Lacquer peel is a problem on the roofs of Astro`s and this one has a few small patches that have started peeling. We have started to rub some of these back ready for respraying. The side skirts have been previously repaired, but there is a very small piece missing from the very back edge of one. They are another thing that Astro`s have a problem with as they do get caught occasionally (as with most skirts/bodykit). All in all, the bodywork just needs some TLC, nothing major or disastrous. The engine is perfect and has never let us down and although it may sound like a lot of little things, we`d rather mention everything. Interior All the wood trim is in good condition, although there is some slight fading due to sun ageing. Air con works fine, although we think it could do with re-gassing for this summer. All the seat electrics work fine. With the middle seats turned to the rear and the back bench laid flat it makes a very comfy and spacious double bed. We have spent many weekends touring parts of the UK and sleeping in the van! It took us to Normandy and back in comfort, (nearly 1000 miles in total) without any problems. The leather seats are in very good condition for their age. There is just slight wear on the drivers seat, but no rips, tears or damage anywhere. The mood lighting all works, apart from one set on the sides, it`s probably nothing major but we just haven`t got round to sorting it. One of the middle seats has an arm rest that needs reattaching. No matter how many times you tell the kids "don`t lean on the arms" they never listen! All fly screens fitted to small sliding windows on the side are in perfect condition. All blinds present and working, although the one on the sliding door has a tendency to drop sometimes. Wheels The wheels are Centreline steel wheels. They all have their centre caps fitted and are in good condition. They could do with sand blasting but they do come up lovely with Autosol and a huge amount of elbow grease and patience! All tyres are good and have plenty of tread on them. This really is a very reliable, awesome looking and sounding van. Please remember when you hit the "buy-it-now" button, you are buying our van, not coming to haggle or `um and `ar, therefore viewing is highly recommended beforehand. We have been as honest as possible and have listed all and any defects, however minor. This van therefore is sold as seen and remember it is a 17 year old van! MOT due January 23rd 2013 Taxed until the end of July 2012 Tax is approx £118 for 6 months. Insurance is on Classic American insurance and costs us only £250 for the year. Parts can be sourced very easily and at very reasonable prices. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions or to arrange viewing.
