While the Impala has good fuel economy and a roomy cabin it also has poor interior quality, out-of-date mechanics and underwhelming performance – which lead many critics to suggest you shop the competition. Car shoppers of a certain age may remember when the Chevrolet Impala was a shining example of what Detroit could build. Refinement, power and acres of chrome were the original Impala’s calling card. If you’re shopping the 2011 Chevrolet Impala out of nostalgia for the Impala of the 1960s, you won’t find what you’re looking for.
